The tour in detail
The Course, the Price and the Way There
Where the base is, what the three hours hold, how the three ways to book differ, and who should not ride.
Where the course is

The tour starts at Koloa Zipline’s office at 1 Mahaulepu Road, on the edge of Koloa town on Kauai’s south shore. From Lihue Airport it is about 20 km by road, roughly 27 minutes; from Poipu Beach Park it is about 4 km. There is no hotel pickup, so you drive or take a taxi. Getting to the base has the drives from Poipu, Lihue, Kapaa and Princeville.
What the three hours hold
After check-in the guides fit your harness and helmet and run the safety briefing that GetYourGuide calls Ground School. Then come the eight lines, on former sugar plantation land outside Koloa, below Mount Haupu. On koloazipline.com it is “the longest ziplining tour in Kauai”, with three of the island’s longest individual lines, including the half-mile Waita line, and part of it runs across the water of the Waita Reservoir (November 2026). Another operator on the island claims Hawaii’s longest single line, so read “longest” here as a claim about the whole course.
Snacks and drinks come on the course. Children and lighter guests may ride tandem, clipped to a partner or a guide, depending on their weight and the wind. You can wear a ball cap under the helmet. The second half of the course is in open sun, and mosquitoes come out on cloudy days, so bring sunscreen and bug spray; what to wear has the rest.
Viator, GetYourGuide or the operator’s own site
The same tour is sold three ways, and the figures differ by a few dollars:
- Viator: US$169.63 a person, adults and children alike, up to 12 people a booking (checked November 2026). Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
- GetYourGuide: from US$169 a person; on 27 November 2026, 20 January and 26 March 2027 its calendar showed US$169.43 for one adult and US$338.86 for two, taxes and fees included (checked November 2026). Free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
- koloazipline.com: $162 a flyer, with no word on whether tax is added, and a 48-hour cancellation window, or 24 hours if you buy its Trip Protection (November 2026).
Neither Viator nor GetYourGuide includes tips. Viator also leaves out hotel pickup and the photo and video package, which is sold separately.
Who should not book it
Children under 7 cannot ride, and anyone over 280 lbs cannot either. The course is not for pregnant travellers, people with back or heart problems, people who have had recent surgery, or anyone afraid of heights, and it is not wheelchair accessible. Under-18s ride with a parent or guardian. Age, weight and health limits sets out each rule and who sets it, and Kauai ziplining with kids covers tandem rides.
After Hurricane Lowell
Hurricane Lowell struck Kauai in September 2026. Koloa Zipline ran a shorter 4-line Hurricane Recovery Tour until 31 October and reopened its 8-line course on 3 November 2026 (its own home page, November 2026). When we read the listings in November 2026, the first dates on sale were 10 November on both Viator and GetYourGuide. The County of Kauai points visitors to KauaiRecovers.org for island updates. Rain, wind and the hurricane covers what happens on a wet or windy day.
